Hello! It's time to reveal our finished living room.
Which color do you notice first?
If you said pink or orange, you're like me. I first saw the throwpillows pop against the neutral gray sofa. I incorporated Oh Joy's round floral pillow and a smaller round one by Room Essentials, both Target brands. The large quilted pillow is by Pillowfort, a kiddie brand from Target. (The sweetest part is I snuck my favorite pastel pink into the design.)
But what inspired the living room palette?
The mint and orange stools.
The stools and unpictured TV stand were the only funiture we had for this room when we moved in, so we furnished the living room to match them. The stools tie into our rug from Target. The cool blues ground the room and complement the orange accent colors. The blues are soothing while the oranges and pinks energize the space.
The sofa from Inspiration is more comfortable than it looks. We like how the seat cushion is one long piece instead of three separate ones.
To break up the living room's linear elements, I purposely chose round pieces for the pillows, table, and vase.
The midcentury modern table doubles as a coffee and dining table. We love that it's versatile, stylish, and "apartment-sized"!
For a personalized touch, brass and gold-plated trombones are functional and decorative, tying into the pillow's gold trim and specks.
And what's a room without plants?
On the opposite wall of the sofa, the urban jungle lives under the TV. We love the greenery and fresh air.
And our cute succulents next to the window enjoy a lot of natural light.
This is our happy place. Cheers!
