Last week the haworthia (a.k.a. zebra plant) began flowering. I adopted this small succulent last month from Ko'olau Farmers. The leaves resemble its close cousin, aloe, but its zebra stripes make it distinct.
The vertical stripes on the lilac petals are lovely in the soft morning light.
Mornings are best for photographing plants. On weekdays, I leave for work before the sun is up. That’s why weekends and holidays are special moments for my iPhone camera and plants to meet.
Some mornings are pastel and mellow like this September sky seen from our apartment.
October's mornings were fiery. Our volcanic smog "vog" softened the glow.
And, thanks to November showers, there are rainbows. Hot tip: the "pot of gold" is near our Honolulu apartment.
Wishing you well! More plants will say, "Hi," on the blog soon.
